This Friday Night

Had an unexpected date night with hubby thanks to a nice sister-in-law. Wore H&M jacket, JBrand jeans, Calypso/Target T, Marc Jacobs clutch. And had my favorite dirty vodka martini at Cipollini. Life is good!

Today's Outfit

Took my daughter to dance class and then went shopping at Banana Republic. Tried on the flowery dress from the Mad Men collection, but even though it was a nice fit I didn't buy it. It felt like too much pattern and color for my large body. But I did get some other goodies. I have been on some shopping tear in the past couple of weeks. That's kind of a pattern for me. I can go for a couple months not buying a thing, and then go a bit crazy one week. Anyway, since I still can't figure out how to add photo captions from the iPhone blogger app, I'll just list what I'm wearing here: Escada trench, Forever 21 jeans, Calypso (for Target) t-shirt, my new LV cross body bag, Converse sneakers, Chloe sunglasses, green no name leather bracelet from Century 21.

My NYC

I love crossing the bridges to New York City and back. I snapped these photos last Sunday on our way back home.

Flowers = Joy

Yesterday I was greeted by these flowers on my driveway, what a lovely welcoming!

Old and New

I had the small LV Saumur forever, but since having kids it has been too small (definitely will not fit diapers, sippy cups, snacks, wipes, etc., not to mention wallet, sunglasses, 2 phones, iPad...) and I gave it to my little fashionista who thinks it makes her look like an "explorer". Now LV has updated the Saumur with the Menilmontant which is named after a working class part of Paris. And working this bag is! It is the perfect mommy bag, which is fitting since this was my early Mother's Day present. The Menilmontant has everything that you would expect of a good cross body: a generous strap, flattering shape, enough room without being overly heavy (thanks to canvas lining). I am really happy with it! But also a bit sad because I think my cross-body quota is now full... I did see the perfect orangey red woven (fake) leather cross body Stella McCartney at Saks, and an ad for the most deliciously colorful and gorgeously simple Dooney & Burke cross-bodies in Vogue. But too many candies will give you a belly ache, or at least leave the wallet aching, so a girl's got to choose. And I made my decision: Menilmontant it is! Thank you to my Family for such a nice early present.

Stitching and Soul

I just watched the Hermes Film Hearts and Crafts with my nine year old. We both enjoyed seeing the skill, soul, meticulous process, creativity being incorporated into Hermes products.

Hermes Film: Hearts and Crafts

Warning: This film will make you hate your office job and want to make something with your hands!

One more reason to love Alexis Bittar

Like his gorgeous jewellery wasn't enough, now he's put our favorite fashion crazed couple on his ad. Love it!

Summer is Here

Today was the perfect day for a back yard barbecue and lighting the fire pit for some smores.

West Village

Today's highlight: cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery. Also passed by the new Karl boutique (Karl Lagerfeldt's new low end line), and had a laugh over the Karl dolls. There was nothing in the store that was very compelling, the style seemed very young and, unfortunately, cheap looking. Lower price point shouldn't translate to that... Apologies for pictures being all mixed up. Not sure how to order them correctly.
Love the window boxes on the West Village Town Houses
My little princesses posing in front of the Karl shop.
Aren't these hilarious?

Gold Buttons

I am on a roll with these office outfit posts. Today's outfit is real cheap chic.. Gold button jacket from HM, necklace from Forever 21. Skirt is so old, don't remember the make. It used to be very big on me, but now fits nicely (and that's after losing 6 pounds in as many weeks on the Weight Watchers).

Office Outfit

Today's outfit is super conservative (did you say farty? Ok, maybe a little, but I needed to look trustworthy and like I was in charge of something). A Chanel wanna-be jacket with Hermes wanna-be scarf, a simple black skirt and my new DKNYC pumps. (And talking about farty, Isn't that a farty word: pump?)

New Shoes

I had a sudden urge today to go shoe shopping at lunch time. The best shoe store downtown is at Century 21, so that's where I headed, even though shopping there can sometimes be quite painful because of the throngs of tourists. I was looking for summery wedge sandals, maybe in a bright color, but surprise, surprise ended buying two pairs of black mid heels (DKNYC and Arturo Chiang). Also got a pair of sneakers that will stay in the office for those rare days that I can get to the gym next to my building (Reebok Flex - amazingly comfortable shoe, btw). And of course, I can never go shopping without getting something cute for at least one of my girls.

Easter

This Easter we've had a work camp going in our back yard, painting the deck. Luckily we had some child labor and my sister-in-law to help. Early morning we took some time to color eggs. Now it's time to put the lamb osso bucco in the Le Creuset pot to cook for Easter dinner.

Office Outfit

Today I am back to my usual variety of navy (Tory Burch cardi), gray (Ann Taylor tweed skirt), white (Banana ruffle T). Last day before a short Easter break!

Hello Clear Morning

My view is back! Ok, it's not all that, but it's still my daily reminder of this great city.

Also, had those extra two minutes in the morning to snap my office outfit. Still trying to incorporate more color into my black and grey wardrobe, thus this dark pink Ann Taylor skirt and the matching Missoni scarf.

Happy April!

I got fooled so many times yesterday on April Fool's Day! It's a tradition in my family and my oldest daughter is getting really good at coming up with fools :-).

These blue flowers are growing in my front yard, wonder what they are...pretty anyway.
